Coronavirus FAQ’s

Cotswold Carriers continue to operate on the advice provided by BAR and the Government regarding the coronavirus pandemic. While Covid-19 restrictions are in place, many of you may be wary about letting people in to your homes and we want to reassure you that we will continue to do our job to the best of our ability whilst making sure you feel safe and respected.

We’ve put together this list of frequently asked questions to hopefully help set your minds at ease.

Q1: Can I still move house?

A1: Yes!
The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Robert Jenrick has stated that the housing and rental market can continue to operate as normal. “The housing market will remain open throughout this period and everone should continue to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus by following the current guidance”.

Q2: How can I arrange a quote?

A2: You can contact us on the details above or simply fill out the quote form on this website. 

Q3: What can I expect on moving day? 

A3: We’ve adopted certain measures to protect customers and staff and ask that you adhere to these closely. 
Once the team have entered your property please show them to a washroom so that they can regularly wash their hands, they will be equipped with hand sanitiser, towels and wipes. They will also provide their own refreshments. 

Once they begin packing and you have left the room, they will remove their facemasks - this is necessary to avoid breathing complications lifting heavy items. Once packing and loading is completed the goods will taken to your new property and the same process will be repeated. Someone from the office will contact you prior to moving day with the current government advice and updates.

Q4: Can I have friends or family to help with my packing?

A4: – We ask that only inhabitants of the house are present on moving day. 
If you have a carer, they may of course be present on moving day, but we will establish this pre-move. 

Q5: Do I need a facemask for my removal?

A5: We suggest that all customers who will need to interact with the team wear a facemask. 
On moving day, once you are in another room or your garden and the correct distance from the crew you are at liberty to remove your mask. Appropriate social distancing must be maintained at all times. 

Q6: Does the above apply if I’m moving overseas?

A6: Yes, the above applies on all moves that begin and/or end within the UK. 
Rules for the overseas part of your move will differ from country to country. During your pre-move survey your destination will be discussed in detail and any relevant additional measures for that country will be taken in to account.
